Location

Mosta is a town situated in the middle of the island of Malta, to the north-west of Valletta. It is one of the most densely populated towns in Malta. Since Mosta is in the centre of Malta, it is within very easy reach of tourists and most buses pass from Mosta enroute to Bugibba, Cirkewwa or Mellieha. A very important site is found in this town, the Mosta Dome. Completed in 1863, it is one of the few churches to be built in that era to be close to the biggest dome in Europe, St.Peter's in Rome. The church can hold up to 10,000 people.
