Location

Santa Venera is a small suburb, 2 miles away from Valetta between Birkirkara and Hamrun. This settlement is found in the Outer Harbour Region of Malta. The oldest buildings in Santa Venera are Wignacourt Aqueduct and Casa Leone, both of which were built by the Knights of St. John. Santa Venera in the early days was made up of just a few residences and farmhouses and most of the population were spread over just a few streets. Santa Venera experienced somewhat of a population explosion soon after the Second World War and the town spread to the borders of Birkirkara and Hamrun, also creating a main arterial road joining the two towns.
